Licorice Fern Natural Area Habitat Restoration, Seattle, WA Current
Friends of Licorice Fern Natural Area are partnering with GAYNOR to restore 8 acres of predominantly forested and scrub-shrub wetland surrounding Thornton Creek in North Seattle. Guiding this volunteer-driven habitat restoration, trail improvement and environmental education effort is a Habitat Restoration and Improvements Plan, created with input from the community. See Plan for Reforestation of Licorice Fern Natural Area.
GAYNOR team develops the Plan in 2011 through a Small & Simple Grant from Seattle Department of Neighborhoods. Implementation of the Plan is ongoing and made possible through additional grants, donations and sweat equity.
